Gopalganj DCCB improves its performance

Bihar based Gopalganj District Central Cooperative Bank has recently organized its Annual General Meeting at Ambedkar Bhawan. The meeting was inaugurated by District Magistrate Arshad Aziz who was invited as the Chief Guest.

The bank has performed well in all the fields except failing to disburse more loans in the FY 2018-19 in comparison to the 2017-2018 FY. The bank’s deposit has increased from Rs 312.04 crore to Rs 322.74 crore whereas as loans and advances decreased from Rs 102.12 crore to Rs 76.63 crore as on 31st March 2019.

The share capital of the bank increased from Rs 6.84 crore to Rs 6.96 crore and Reserve fund increased from Rs 41.36 crore to Rs 41.56 crore as on 31st March 2019.

However, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 20.32 lakh in 2018-19 FY. Earlier it was Rs 11.62 lakh.

Addressing the AGM, the Bank Chairman Mahesh Rai said ” we will provide help to the farmers. Customers will soon get the updates on daily deposits through IMPS Mobile App. We will also provide E-Corner facility to our customers”, he added.

Rai also informed about initiatives including Organic Farming, Cleanliness drive and several others being undertaken by the bank. The bank management is also working on recovering the NPAs.

DDM Nabard Anupam Lal apprised the participants of various schemes of Nabard on the occasion. PACS Chairman Mahamood Alam, Shiv Kumar, Raghav Prasad, Ashok Tiwari shared their views about problems being faced by their PACS.

The bank MD R N Pandey, Director, Virendra Prasad, Rakesh Shahi, Rajesh Rai, several PACs Chairman and others were present in the meeting.

Gopalganj Central Cooperative Bank was established in 1917. The Bank is having a network of 16 branches.
