Fishcopfed MD B K Mishra has lauded the budget and said that due to Matsya Sampada Yojana, there shall be a boom in the Sector and creation of 500 FPOs in the Sector, shall accelerate growth.
He wrote “Even before budget, FIDF Scheme was approved. There are good Schemes but how best we execute it, is very important”
As far as FISHCOPFED is concerned, it should be the nodal agency to organize 500 FPOs which we can achieve in a record time, Mishra said.
Due to creation of more water bodies, production shall increase considerably. I think FISHCOPFED shall be assigned more responsibility by the Central Govt, he hoped.
Further, under PMSBY, the cover should have been enhanced from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.5 lakh. But overall it is a good budget for fisheries sector to stimulate growth.
Introduction of Kisan Rail and Krishi Uddan, shall help to reduce post-harvest losses in the fisheries sector, he felt.
