Tamil Nadu cooperation minister Sellur K. Raju has called upon the people to steer clear of moneylenders and instead seek loans from cooperative banks, reports Deccan Chronicle.
The minister said money lending at usurious interest rates is an evil that needs to be abolished and those promoting it should be sternly dealt with.
The minister added cooperative banks have many lending schemes that may help the people get rid of traditional moneylenders.
