GCMMF asks Rajasthan & Maha plants to go for milk powder

Indian Express reports given a glut of milk due to the national lockdown, GCMMF has asked private plants in Rajasthan and Maharashtra to convert its excess milk into milk powder.

GCMMF MD R.S. Sodhi said these plants could process 15-20 lakh litres of milk per day.

The dairy cooperative collects 260 lakh litres per day of milk including 210 lakh litres from Gujarat.

According to the GCMMF MD, the cooperative has 10 plants that produce 11,000 metric tonnes of milk powder every day.
