Telangana-based Gayatri Cooperative Urban Bank has achieved a major milestone by surpassing a business mix of Rs 4,000 crore, reflecting its sustained growth and strengthening position in the cooperative banking sector.
The bank currently operates 81 branches across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, serving a wide customer base and playing a key role in advancing financial inclusion through cooperative banking services.
Sharing the achievement on the morning of January 30, Vanamala Srinivas, Chief Executive Officer of Gayatri Cooperative Urban Bank, said that the bank’s total business stood at Rs 4,003.26 crore, comprising deposits of Rs 2,254.72 crore and advances of Rs 1,748.54 crore. He attributed the milestone to the collective efforts of the bank’s team and the continued support of its stakeholders.
Buoyed by its strong financial performance, the bank has initiated plans to expand its area of operation beyond its existing states. Gayatri Cooperative Urban Bank has applied to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) seeking approval to extend its operations to Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The CRCS has sought certain clarifications on the application, and the bank is currently in the process of submitting detailed responses to the queries raised, a move that will pave the way for its proposed interstate expansion.
