Gangadhar leads new team at Gayatri Urban Co-op Bank

In a significant development at Telangana’s largest urban cooperative bank- Gayatri Co-operative Urban Bank, a new leadership team has taken charge following recent elections.

Gundeti Gangadhar has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman, while Ravi Somishetty has assumed the role of Vice-Chairman. Gangadhar succeeds Muthyala Laxman Reddy, and Somishetty replaces Ms. M Somjanya.

The appointments have received official approval from the Cooperative Election Authority.

The bank has replaced all directors who had completed 10 years of service, marking a rare feat in the cooperative sector where the entire board has been reconstituted with fresh leadership.

Under the bank’s dynamic cooperative governance model, Gayatri Co-operative Urban Bank has consistently strengthened its position in the state’s urban banking sector.

Notably, the bank has reported an impressive 25% growth in total business for the financial year ending March 31, 2025.

According to the bank’s recently published performance highlights, the total business, comprising both deposits and advances, surged from Rs 2,526.72 crore in FY 2023–24 to Rs 3,150.5 crore in FY 2024–25. This achievement marks a major milestone, pushing the bank’s business mix past the Rs 3,000 crore mark for the first time.

With new leadership at the helm and strong financial growth, Gayatri Co-operative Urban Bank continues to play a pivotal role in serving the banking needs of Telangana’s urban population.
