Bihar took a giant leap toward global agri-food leadership as Patna hosted its first-ever International Buyer-Seller Meet (IBSM), organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), in collaboration with the Bihar government, APEDA, and TPCI.
Held at Gyan Bhawan, the two-day event spotlighted the critical role of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in linking local agri-enterprises to global markets.
Union Minister Shri Chirag Paswan set the tone with a vision of Bihar as a hub where local youth become job creators and traditional produce—like GI-tagged makhana, litchi, and Katarni rice—earns global recognition.
Over 70 international buyers from 20 countries participated, engaging in 500+ B2B meetings with over 120 exhibitors, including FPOs and SHGs. This event has positioned FPOs at the forefront of Bihar’s development and India’s global food diplomacy.
