In a significant step towards strengthening global partnerships for sustainable rural development, a delegation from Fiji Development Bank visited India for a knowledge exchange programme with leading rural finance institutions.
During the visit, the delegation engaged with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Bankers Institute of Rural Development, focusing on collaboration in capacity building, agri-value chain development, digital financing solutions such as e-Kisan Credit Card (KCC), and green finance initiatives.
Field visits to Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh provided firsthand exposure to rural credit delivery systems and farmer empowerment models. The delegation observed innovative practices through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), digital crop loan systems, and cooperative strengthening initiatives supported by NABARD.
The delegation appreciated the support extended by the Government of India and the High Commission of India in Fiji.
The visit underscores a shared commitment to innovation, knowledge exchange, and inclusive agricultural growth.
