Farmers’ woes: BJP holds brainstorming session

BJP held a brainstorming session in New Delhi to unpack factors responsible for dissatisfaction among farmers in the country on Thursday.

There has recently been strong farmers’ protest across large swaths of the country. This has worried the ruling party no end. The incidence of suicide among farmers showing no signs of decreasing seems to have compounded their worry, for example.

Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and others tried to thrash out a doable response to meet the challenges arising out of farmers’ anger.

Several union ministers and experts took part in the discussions.
