A large number of farmers of West Bengal, Sikkim and Delhi will not be able to avail the DBT scheme as these states have yet to provide the farmers’ details on the PM -Kisan portal. Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh revealed this on Sunday, reports Live Mint.

Sources say in addition to the three states there are states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Lakshadweep which have also not uploaded data on the portal.

It is worth mentioning that the Narendra Modi government had announced a direct income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments to 12.5 crore small and marginal farmers across the country.

The union minister is quoted saying as many as 4.71 crore farmers’ details made available by 33 states and Union Territories and about 3.11 of them have already benefited from the scheme.
