In a major boost to the rural economy, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has rolled out a comprehensive One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme aimed at providing significant relief to defaulting farmers associated with Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS).

The initiative is designed to ease the debt burden on farmers while strengthening the cooperative credit structure across the state. Emphasizing effective implementation, the Chief Minister has directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure robust monitoring at the district level.

Revised proposals have also been submitted to revive financially stressed cooperative societies and restore their financial health. The government has issued clear and structured guidelines covering farmer applications, eligibility criteria, scrutiny, and approval processes to ensure transparency and efficiency.

With a streamlined framework in place, the scheme is expected to accelerate loan settlements, improve credit flow, and benefit thousands of farmers across Maharashtra, while reinforcing the cooperative ecosystem.
