Fadnavis bats for Women’s Co-ops in Assembly

The Maharashtra government is exploring the allocation of development works worth Rs 10 lakh to registered women’s cooperative societies, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the Assembly.

Responding to a notice by MLA Prakash Solanke regarding irrigation work distribution in Beed’s Majalgaon, Fadnavis said current Public Works Department norms allow such contracts for labour co-ops and unemployed engineers.

With registration of women’s co-ops already permitted, the government now aims to empower them by including them in future development project allocations.
