The results of the elections to the Board of Directors of the Goa State Co-operative Bank were announced on Tuesday. Thirteen members have been elected from different constituencies representing various categories of co-operative societies across the state.
Those elected include Smt. Priya Tanksali from Salary Earners Co-operative Credit Societies (North Goa) Constituency and Shaba Dessai from Salary Earners Co-operative Credit Societies (South Goa). Krishna Kudnekar and Vinayak Narvekar were elected from the Seva Co-operative Societies Constituency, while Vithal Vernekar won from the same group. Vijaykant Gaonkar was chosen from the Co-operative Dairy Societies Constituency and Shrikant Naik from the Consumer and Marketing Co-operative Societies Constituency.
From the Housing Co-operative and allied societies constituency, Dadi Naik emerged victorious, while andurang Kurtikar secured a strong majority from the Individual Constituency (General) with over 1,200 votes.
Chitra Vaigankar was elected from the Women’s Individual Constituency, and Smt. Maithili Parob will represent the same. Prabhakar Gaonkar was elected unopposed from the ST/SC Constituency. S
