Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank scandal is proving to be bigger than met the eyes in the beginning as media reports from Kerala indicate that several top CPM leaders are involved.
The ED searched two more banks– Ayyanthole Service Cooperative Bank and the Thrissur District Service Cooperative Bank on Wednesday where one of the accused– Satheeshkumar P, had carried financial transactions.
Besides CPM leader A C Moideen, the name of M K Kannan, vice-president of the Kerala State Cooperative Bank (Kerala Bank) has also come up.
Over 10 years, Satheeshkumar withdrew nearly Rs 40 crore from Ayyanthole bank alone through three different accounts, media reports say.
