In a focused effort to strengthen grassroots fisheries cooperatives, Dr. K. K. Tripathy, Joint Secretary at the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, held an interaction with members of Primary Fishermen Cooperative Societies (PFCS) and representatives of central fisheries cooperatives on Friday.
The session centred on understanding on-ground challenges faced by fishermen cooperatives and exploring measures to improve their operational efficiency, particularly in Odisha. Participants shared key suggestions aimed at enhancing the functioning and sustainability of PFCS.
The meeting brought together senior stakeholders, including officials from the Directorate of Fisheries, Government of Odisha, the Regional Manager of National Cooperative Development Corporation, and representatives from FISHFED.
The interaction reflects ongoing efforts to address sector-specific concerns and strengthen cooperative-led development in the fisheries domain.
