The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to introduce Integrated Last Mile Connectivity (LMC) services in collaboration with Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd. (STCL) to enhance passenger convenience and promote seamless end-to-end urban mobility across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Under this initiative, DMRC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with STCL, a multi-state cooperative society operating the mobility platform “Bharat Taxi,” an initiative of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. The partnership aims to provide organized, affordable and reliable last mile connectivity from metro stations through bike taxis, auto-rickshaws and cab services.
Initially, these services will be rolled out at 10 identified metro stations. As part of a pilot phase, dedicated bike taxi services will be deployed at Millennium City Centre and Botanical Garden metro stations by January 31, 2026. The pilot will help assess operational feasibility and commuter response before wider expansion.
A key highlight of the project is digital integration. The Bharat Taxi mobile application will be integrated with DMRC’s Sarthi app, enabling commuters to plan, book and access metro and last mile services through a single digital platform.
The initiative supports DMRC’s commitment to sustainable urban transport by reducing dependence on private vehicles, lowering emissions and improving air quality, while strengthening cooperative-based mobility solutions.
