A special discussion on the cooperative model of Bharat Taxi was featured on Sansad TV, highlighting its role in strengthening driver-led entrepreneurship in India’s taxi sector.
Positioned as more than just a transport service, Bharat Taxi has emerged as a significant initiative aimed at making drivers stakeholders and owners within the system. Launching the initiative, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah stated that the time has come for drivers to move beyond being mere service providers and become true stakeholders and self-reliant owners.
The panel discussion included Vinay Sheel Gautam, Director in the Ministry of Cooperation, and Rohit Gupta, Vice Chairman of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited. The speakers elaborated on how the cooperative framework aims to ensure equitable profit-sharing, transparency, and long-term financial security for drivers.
