National Payments Corporation of India on Tuesday hosted a high-impact training session in Tamil Nadu, bringing together over 130 delegates from more than 70 Cooperative Banks, Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs), and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).
The session focused on boosting technical readiness, improving operational efficiency, and fostering product innovation across institutions. It aimed to equip participating banks with the tools and insights needed to deliver secure, seamless, and scalable digital payment solutions, particularly targeting last-mile connectivity.
With India’s digital payments ecosystem rapidly expanding, NPCI emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among cooperative and rural banking institutions to bridge technology gaps and enhance customer experience.
The programme highlighted practical strategies to modernize banking operations while ensuring inclusivity in underserved and rural regions.
The initiative underlines NPCI’s continued commitment to driving digital transformation in the banking sector, strengthening last-mile digital access and advancing financial inclusion. By enabling knowledge-sharing and capacity-building, the session is expected to accelerate the adoption of innovative payment systems across cooperative and regional banks.
