Digital Push in Rural Transformation of Jharkhand

A development programme focused on strengthening rural India through cooperation and digital empowerment was held in Jharkhand, with active participation from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the State Cooperative Department.

The programme highlighted key priorities such as product quality enhancement, digital platforms for improved market access, and digitisation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with integration of e-Kisan Credit Cards (e-KCC). Officials stressed that digitalisation and capacity building are critical to strengthening the rural economy.

Focus was also laid on NABARD’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives, including watershed development, WADI projects, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) for business expansion and agri-marketing. Certificates for PACS membership, e-KCC, and approvals for selected FPOs were distributed to promote financial inclusion.

Among those present were Shaji K V, Deepmala Ghosh, and Chami Murmu, who underscored the importance of women-led community participation in sustainable rural development.
