Dhar district’s cooperative societies in Madhya Pradesh hold 28,200 metric tons of fertilizer, yet farmers have collected just 2,000 tons, reports the Free Press Journal.
With the Kharif season nearing, District Cooperative Central Bank CEO is urging early collection to avoid supply bottlenecks during the monsoon.
Early procurement benefits both farmers and cooperatives by preventing shortages and freeing storage space for restocking. To raise awareness, cooperative staff are visiting villages and launching poster campaigns.
Officials emphasize that timely action will ensure smooth fertilizer distribution and safeguard farmers against last-minute rushes for this critical agricultural input.
