In a significant policy move, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has outlined detailed modalities for the export of wheat flour and related products under HS Code 1101, permitting an additional export quantity of 5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT).

According to the official public notice, 2.5 LMT, half of the total permitted quantity, will be considered for allocation to State Trading Enterprises and cooperative societies involved in handling agricultural commodities under the Government of India framework.

The allocation will be recommended by a Special Exim Facilitation Committee (EFC) based on applicants’ export performance and availability of confirmed export orders. Applications are to be submitted online through the DGFT portal during the first ten days of each month, subject to availability of the notified quantity.

Eligible applicants must possess a valid Importer Exporter Code (IEC) and furnish requisite documents, including export track record and certified turnover details. The export authorisation will be valid for six months and remain non-transferable, with strict adherence to prescribed conditions.
