Supreme Court has asked petitioners to await for the verdict of a Constitution bench on the validity of demonetization.
The apex court was hearing 15 petitioners-individuals, corporate houses and cooperative banks -asking for a chance to deposit their demonetized old notes still lying with them,
The central govt has not taken kindly to such a demand saying this would defeat the very purpose of demonetization.
However, the petitioners argue the govt should examine the genuineness of their difficulty in approaching banks between November 9 and December 30 last year and permit them to redeem the scrapped currencies in their possession, which is their hard-earned money.
