Delhi State Co-op Bank: Mundka theft solved

Police claims to have solved the Bollywood style heist at the Mundka branch of Delhi State Co-op Bank, reports UNI. Thieves made away with Rs 27,50,684 in cash and some gold coins and jewellery.

Following investigation, one of the criminals was arrested from a farm house in Narela in West Delhi. Police have also got hold of gas cylinders used in the execution of the crime.

A group of men had drilled a hole through the wall of the state cooperative bank in outer Delhi’s Mundka and decamped with cash and jewellery, in a manner usually seen in Hollywood bot-boilers.

The criminals had pulled out the CCTVs and the digital video recorder. Using electronic cutters powered by at least eight gas cylinders, the men made holes to open the safe.

Senior cooperator and NCUI Vice-President Bijender Singh is the Chairman of the Bank. Delhi State Cooperative Bank is having around 49 branches in capital.
