The Delhi government is set to launch a cooperative ride-hailing service to give commuters affordable rides and drivers full earnings with no commission cuts.
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Ravindra Indraj said the initiative is part of efforts to inject fresh energy into the cooperative movement. Unlike corporate cab platforms, the app-based service will be fully owned and managed by drivers through a cooperative structure.
It will connect taxis, autos, two-wheelers and four-wheelers under one system, with members sharing profits and taking part in decisions. Officials say the model will ensure transparent fares, no surge pricing, better income and social security for drivers, and reliable service for passengers.
