The two-day International Conference on Cooperative Banking and Credit Sectors-Co-op Kumbh 2025-concluded at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with the adoption of the Delhi Declaration 2025, presented by NAFCUB Vice-Chairman Milind Kale.
The declaration outlines a shared vision for a transparent, technology-driven, and inclusive cooperative banking sector aligned with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Kale said the declaration reaffirms the cooperative sector’s role as a vital pillar of financial inclusion and community development. It recognised the government’s continued focus on strengthening cooperatives under the Ministry of Cooperation, and the regulatory guidance of the RBI and NABARD.
The declaration emphasised the need for modern technology adoption, professional management, and robust governance in Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) and Credit Societies.
Delegates welcomed the establishment of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) to strengthen liquidity management and sectoral coordination.
It called for enhanced financial literacy, youth and women empowerment, innovation in microfinance, and stronger cybersecurity and compliance practices. Concluding the conference, Kale said, “The Delhi Declaration 2025 embodies our collective resolve to build a resilient, ethical, and digitally empowered cooperative movement for a prosperous India.”
