Delhi Cooperation Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Sunday announced that cooperative institutions in the capital will establish a dedicated Blood Bank in honour of Indian soldiers’ sacrifices. The facility will ensure timely availability of blood for city residents during emergencies.
Speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Federation of Group Housing Societies, Dwarka, he lauded their record in blood donation. Singh said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s vision, Delhi will become a cooperative model for India.
With nearly 2,000 Group Housing Societies, he proposed cooperative stores in each to boost local jobs and market rural products. The announcement complements Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s recent plan for a mobile app connecting voluntary blood donors.
