Darbhanga: When a co-op office refuses to vacate a premise!

There is news report coming in from Darbhanga district of Bihar that a district audit office run by the State Government is not returning the rented office to the owner. The owner has mailed Indian Cooperative his tale of woes along with photographs of the rented office.

According to the report, district audit office has been working from the rented space for the last several years. Despite the owner’s repeated requests to the audit office to vacate his space, the district audit officer has only been pulling the wool over his eyes to avoid the long overdue vacation of the space.

In October 2018, in a letter written to the owner the audit officer said that they are searching for a new plot to shift the office and assured that they would do so soon. But nothing became of it.

It is learnt that exactly four months have passed since the audit officer promised to find a plot to shift his office.

Some well-meaning local citizens have condemned the audit office’s insensitive attitude and urged the state govt to take necessary steps to return the office to the rightful owner.
