The Office of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) has issued a hearing notice to Viswadeepthi Multi State Agri Cooperative Society Ltd. following multiple complaints regarding the non-repayment of depositors’ funds.
According to the CRCS, several complaints were received against the Society, prompting the Registrar to order an inspection under Section 108 of the Multi State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002. In this regard, the Deputy Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) was requested on May 19, 2025, to conduct an inspection of the Society.
The inspection report, submitted on August 5, 2025, revealed that the Society was not functioning from its registered address. The report also noted that the Society had failed to comply with an order issued by the Cooperative Ombudsman on May 5, 2025.
Based on these findings, the CRCS issued a winding-up notice to the Society on September 18, 2025. Subsequently, the Society sought an opportunity for hearing through a letter dated September 25, 2025.
In response, the Central Registrar has scheduled a hearing on December 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM to be conducted via video conference. The Chairman or Chief Executive of the Society has been directed to appear with all relevant records and documents.
The notice states that failure to attend the hearing may lead to further action, including winding up of the Society under the MSCS Act, 2002, and the rules framed thereunder.
