The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies under Union Ministry of Cooperation has extended the deadline for completion of arbitration proceedings in the case of Ramdas P. Sandhe & Others vs FISHCOPFED & Others till July 10, 2026.

The extension has been granted under the provisions of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, following a request from Sole Arbitrator K. S. Meena.

In his letter dated February 5, 2026, Meena informed that the proceedings are currently at the stage of recording evidence and could not be concluded within the stipulated time.

He cited multiple reasons for the delay, including the impleadment of additional parties, an increase in the number of respondents, and the filing of several interim applications under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Additionally, as many as 24 issues have been framed for adjudication, adding to the complexity of the case.

Taking these factors into account, the Central Registrar granted an additional five months and directed the arbitrator to conclude the proceedings within the extended timeline.
