Court stays results of Devika Urban Co-op Bank elections

Jammu and Kashmir high court has ruled that the results of the recent elections for the Board of Directors of Devika Urban Co-operative Bank in Uddhampur be withheld, reports Daily Excelcior.com

A source says a total number of 462 votes were polled at four polling stations.

As nomination papers of R D Gupta (a retired bank officer) for the post of director were rejected by the Scrutiny Officer, he approached the High Court, which allowed him to contest the elections and further directed that the result shall remain stayed till the further order.

The turnout was low in that the bank management had not informed the members about the election.
