A special court in Mumbai has accepted the Economic Offences Wing’s closure report in the alleged Rs 25,000 crore Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) loan irregularities case, effectively giving a clean chit to late Ajit Pawar and other accused. The order came weeks after Pawar’s death in a plane crash, media reports say.
The EOW filed a ‘C-Summary’ report stating no criminal offence was established. The court also dismissed protest petitions, including one by activist Anna Hazare.
The case, initiated in 2019 on directions of the Bombay High Court, related to alleged irregular loan disbursals by Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank between 2007 and 2017.
