“Today, survival depends on reading value-based content and incorporating what we read into our behaviour is the need of the hour”, stated Anil Kawade, Commissioner-Cooperation & Registrar, Cooperative Societies. He was speaking on the occasion of ‘Reading Inspiration Day’ programme arranged by Cosmos Bank in association with Green World Publication on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Kawade pointed out that, as we see the abundant use of gadgets at present, science seems to be a curse rather than a boon today. Being part of the community, it is important that all should feel the need to be honest, help those in need, keep cordial relations & follow social etiquettes & rules. Social responsibility is an important element of the cooperative sector too, he added.
Cosmos Bank Chairman, CA Milind Kale said that “behind creation of every book, there are thoughts, inspiration and presentation. In life we have to prioritize my things. I feel like writing a book on – making us think about what is priority.” He also stated that if we inspire people to read books the purpose behind this programme is achieved.
Well-known author, script writer Kiran Yadnyopavit was also present for this programme. He mentioned that life has changed drastically now. ‘Market’ is the most important point to consider while creating or watching content. Society has lost its stability. The audience has more appeal for content creators of various media. We don’t pause to find our own space. Such is the fickleness of society today. To overcome all this, the easiest way to bring contentment and peace is reading a book.
Gautam Kotwal of Green World Publication stated that reading makes the society prosper. Hence, we need to celebrate such days.
During this programme, authors who are staff of Bank and authors from other fields too were felicitated with a citation. Compering of the programme was done by Manisha Sabnis and Priyanka Sumant.
