The veteran leaders across the country celebrated World Soil Day and participated in various functions organized on this occasion. The theme for the day is “Soil and pulses, a symbiosis for life.”
Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh addressed a gathering at the College of Engineering, Roorkee, Uttarakhand on the occasion and tweeted “”Swasth Dhara, Khet Hara”.
IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi was in Kochi, Kerala on the occasion of World Soil Day.
Union Chemical and Fertilizer Minister Ananth kumar posted a photograph on Social media and wrote “World Soil day Vishwa Bhoomi Divas Maa Tujhe Salaam Save Mother Earth Save Mother Nature”.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture wrote on his twitter wall “Today is #WorldSoilDay, #SoilHealthCards helps farmers to know the scientific status of their farmland soil and do healthy farming”.
NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav said healthy soil is integral to rural growth on this occasion.
The observance of World Soil Day, an initiative of the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural organisation aims to connect people with soils and to impart awareness on its importance in our daily life and survival.
