Cooperators celebrate Makar Sankranti with gusto

Cooperators across the nation have welcomed Indian Calendar’s New Year and celebrated Makar Sankranti with gusto. From IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi to NAFCUB President Jyotindra Mehta- all took to social media to convey their greetings.

In Gujarat Vijay Rupani the Chief Minister of the state once again visited Mehta at his home. Rupani has been following this unbroken tradition of meeting the family of his old friend Jyotindra Mehta for the last 38 years.

An effusive Mehta wrote on the Facebook “Keeping the tradition alive of Reunion on Kite festival without break since 38 years! Close friends had a great time with Hon. Chief Minister.”

Dr U S Awasthi Managing Director of IFFCO posted a tweet in Hindi and said “I convey my greetings on the occasion of Makar Sankranti to all. This festival has special significance for the farmers of the country. Our farmers in every corner of the country celebrate the new crop on this occasion.

On this occasion several Union Ministers from Bihar including Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh in Delhi organized a “Dahi-Chura” parties at their residences.

Several other cooperators including Dileepbhai Sanghani, NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh and others leaders also celebrated the day with great fervor and spirit with their friends and followers.

On this occasion Biscomaun leaders are coming forward to help the govt create a polythene free environment in Bihar. Biscomaun began a drive to distribute eco-friendly bags among farmers of the state on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. It pledges to distribute one lakh eco-friendly bags among the farmers of the state.
