Cooperators celebrate Chhath with gusto

With the Chhath Puja acquiring pan-India significance, top cooperative leaders including NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav and IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, among others have greeted the fellow cooperators a “Happy Chhath”.

Primarily a religious event observed by people of Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, their migrations to various parts of country has made it an all India event with Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and other cities preparing in a big way for the event.

In Bihar cooperators led by Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh celebrated Chhath Puja in a big way. Sending some exclusive photographs he wished everybody on the occasion. “ I am in my village and the river Ganges flows right through it; chhath celebrations have a unique flavor here and you have to come here to appreciate its beauty”, said Sunil Friday morning while returning from the Ghat.

Tweeting on the occasion IFFCO MD said “wishing you all on the eve of worshiping of Sun God! May Chhath Mata bring happiness in everyone’s life.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted people on the occasion and said it is only the people of Bihar who unlike others also worship the setting Sun. “It is a matter of research and I salute people for such large-heated behavior”-was the gist of his utterances.
