The Ministry of Cooperation has partnered with the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) for the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, highlighting the pivotal role of cooperatives and grassroots institutions in India’s rice sector.
The collaboration will showcase three initiatives: the conference, a Coffee Table Book on Indian Rice, and a Vision & Roadmap for the sector under Viksit Bharat@2047.
IREF President Prem Garg said the partnership strengthens cooperatives’ participation in the rice economy, supports farmers, boosts agri-exports, and ensures cooperatives remain central to building a resilient, inclusive, and market-ready rice sector.
