The sixth day of the 72nd All-India Cooperative Week was marked by dynamic discussions and activities around the theme “Expanding Cooperatives in Emerging Areas such as Tourism, Health, Green Energy, Platform Coops, Kitchen Coops and Other Conceivable Sectors.”

Across various States and Union Territories, cooperative institutions showcased their initiatives and future plans aimed at strengthening the cooperative presence in new and rapidly growing domains.

From community-based tourism models and affordable cooperative healthcare networks to green energy transitions and digital platform cooperatives, participants emphasized the immense potential of cooperatives in shaping India’s next phase of development.

Speakers highlighted the need for innovation, technology adoption, and capacity building to ensure that cooperatives remain relevant and competitive in these evolving fields. Kitchen cooperatives and local producer groups also shared success stories demonstrating how collective action continues to empower communities, especially women and youth.

The day underscored a strong national commitment to nurturing an inclusive cooperative ecosystem that embraces new opportunities while staying rooted in cooperative values. With coordinated efforts from States, UTs, and institutions, cooperatives are poised to become key drivers of growth in emerging sectors across the country.
