The Indian Cooperative Credit Society Limited (ICCSL) inaugurated a modern convention centre in Varkala on Thursday, marking a significant addition to the cooperative institution’s infrastructure.
ICCSL Chairman Dr. Sojan V. Avirachan described the newly opened facility as a “pride asset” of the society. The convention centre was dedicated to the public in the presence of thousands of ICCSL employees and members from various South Indian states.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Avirachan said the society has grown from humble beginnings to its present stature through the collective efforts of its members and staff. He noted that the new facility is a recognition of their hard work and commitment.
The ICCS Convention Centre is located at Vadasserikonam on the road connecting National Highway 66 (India) to Varkala Beach and Sivagiri Mutt. Built on a three-acre campus, it features two air-conditioned halls with seating capacities of 2,000 and 650 respectively, along with dining facilities, guest suites, modern audio-visual systems and ample parking.
The centre is designed to host weddings, conferences, exhibitions and corporate events. Awards were also distributed to high-performing ICCSL branches and employees during the ceremony.
