Controversy at appointment of Sharma in Punjab

The arbitrary appointment of Sidharth Shankar Sharma as a professional advisor by state cooperation minister Sukhjinder Randhawa has led to controversy in Punjab.

HT reports Akali Dal has urged Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh to register a criminal case and order a probe into this appointment.

Employed at a huge salary of Rs 2.60 lakh per month, the minister had asked eight different cooperative departments to pay the salary of the advisor but without moving any resolutions through their board of directors.
