A meeting of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Cooperation is scheduled to be held today in Committee Room-1, Parliament House Annexe (Extension Building), New Delhi.
Being the Chairman of the Consultative Committee, it is expected that the meeting will be chaired by Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah.
The key agenda of the meeting includes discussions on two major initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative ecosystem in India.
The first initiative focuses on the establishment of 2 lakh new multi-purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), as well as Dairy and Fisheries cooperative societies across the country.
The second initiative is the launch of a Cooperative-led White Revolution 2.0, which aims to transform India’s dairy sector.
The meeting is also expected to see the participation of Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Cooperation, and Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, along with other members of the Consultative Committee, including members from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, among whom Anurag Sharma is also one of the members.
