COMFED reviews Dairy Co-op Societies expansion across Bihar

A high-level review meeting on milk procurement and expansion of Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS) was recently held under Bihar’s ambitious Saat Nischay–3 programme, with focus on strengthening the rural dairy network across the state.

Officials reviewed the progress of opening Dairy Cooperative Societies in every village to boost milk collection, improve farmers’ income, and expand cooperative participation at the grassroots level.

The meeting also assessed procurement activities being carried out by Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation, popularly known as COMFED, which serves as the apex body of dairy cooperatives in Bihar.

COMFED currently supports over 13.5 lakh farmer families across Bihar and markets milk and dairy products under the well-known Sudha brand.
