In a significant step towards enhancing cooperative banking practices, the Cooperative Bank of India (COBI) in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, launched a two-day training programme on “Cooperative Thoughts and Banking Functional Management” from 8th to 9th May 2025.
The event aimed to deepen the understanding of cooperative principles and streamline banking operations among professionals in the cooperative banking sector.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. V. K. Dubey, Managing Director of the Cooperative Bank of India, and Shrawan Manta, Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank. In their opening remarks, both leaders stressed the importance of cooperative ideals in driving sustainable development and improving financial services for communities.
The sessions for the training programme are being led by Dr. V. K. Dubey and S. C. Pradhan, Principal of the Delhi Centre for Cooperative Training. The curriculum includes comprehensive coverage on cooperative governance, financial management, and the implementation of innovative banking practices, with a focus on meeting the specific needs of the cooperative sector.
The programme is hosting 39 participants, providing a robust platform for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and best practices. The training aims to equip attendees with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of modern banking and further the mission of cooperative banks in serving their communities effectively.
