Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat recently graced the 44th Convocation Ceremony of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), now known as the Tribhuvandas Sahakari University campus, where he awarded gold medals and degrees to meritorious graduates.

Addressing the gathering, Acharya Devvrat stated that the idea of cooperatives, which originated on Gujarat’s soil, has now gained global recognition, a matter of great pride for the entire nation.

He praised IRMA and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for their remarkable contributions toward strengthening rural development and promoting cooperative values.

Devrat also highlighted the visionary efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in establishing India’s first Cooperative University, which is opening new avenues for economic and educational advancement in rural India.

Paying homage to legendary visionaries such as Dr. Verghese Kurien, Tribhuvandas Patel, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Governor reiterated their shared vision of a self-reliant rural India, the true soul of national harmony.

Encouraging students, he urged them to apply their knowledge not just for personal development but also for the welfare of society and humanity. He further emphasized the transformative potential of scientific innovations like sex-sorted semen technology in revolutionizing the dairy sector and improving the economic conditions of farmers.
