India govt. pursues a privatization policy that does not permit cooperative societies as well to take part in the bidding for state-owned firms, reports Business Standard.
The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has asked all government departments to pass on the information to PSUs and cooperative societies under their administrative control.
That is to say, public sector entities and cooperative societies will not take part in the privatization process unless otherwise specified.
