Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh said the cooperative movement has long strengthened rural livelihoods and social cohesion, calling Haryana a frontrunner in this sector, media reports highlight.
Speaking at the state-level closing ceremony of the 72nd Cooperative Week in Panchkula, he said the Cooperative Fair and Swadeshi Mela showcased grassroots creativity, women’s financial independence, youth enterprise and farmers’ rising productivity.
He noted that PACS, dairy, sugar and urban cooperative institutions are driving collective progress, further boosted by digitalisation and new national initiatives. Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma said the sector will be central to building a self-reliant and developed India.
