The fourth day of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week, observed nationwide from 14 to 20 November 2025, was celebrated today in Mangan, North Sikkim, and at URICM, Gandhinagar.
The day focused on the sub-theme “National Cooperative Policy Ecosystem, Structured Roadmap for India’s Cooperatives”, under the overarching national theme “Cooperatives as Vehicles for Atma Nirbhar Bharat.”
In Mangan, the programme was jointly organised by the Denzong Agriculture Cooperative Society (DACS) and the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, Mangan.
The celebration was graced by MLA Kabi Lungchok Constituency and Advisor to the Government of Sikkim, Mr Thenlay Tshering Bhutia, as Chief Guest. Speakers emphasised the importance of a structured national policy that supports digital transformation, transparency, capacity building, and market expansion for cooperatives, creating opportunities for rural communities and aligning the sector with the vision of a self-reliant India.
At URICM, Gandhinagar, the day featured a lecture on the same sub-theme. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr A.K. Asthana, who provided key insights on strengthening the cooperative policy ecosystem and guiding the future of India’s cooperatives.
The event highlighted the critical role of strong governance, strategic planning, and policy support in shaping a vibrant and sustainable cooperative sector nationwide.
