Co-op volunteers: Govt aims roping 5 lac interns

In a note AICTE says that Hon’ble Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah has approved to use youth–students and recent graduates to be part of various initiatives and schemes of the Ministry through an internship scheme.

The main aim of the internship scheme is to provide students’ participation in all cooperatives across all 766 districts (5 Interns per district) in the country in phase 1 of the internship scheme and thereby provide the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of their district & the country.

A total of 5 Lakh of internship opportunities will be offered by the Ministry of Cooperation through AICTE internship portal in the next phases, reads a note from the AICTE.

The Ministry of Cooperation will use the AICTE Internship portal to engage interns for a period of 2- 6 months for the following tasks: National Cooperative Database, Training Program, PACS Computerization and Model Bylaws.

Ministry of Cooperation internships can be found here: https://internship.aicte-india.org/ibyministryofcoop.php. In this regard, the Ministry of Education has directed that all institutes should register on the AICTE internship portal and ask their students to register to avail of the benefits.

This portal provides the perfect platform for students to put forth their skills & desires and for companies to place the intern demand and currently 26 lakh internship opportunities are available on the portal and more than 1.7crore students are already registered.
