Co-op in campus: NEDAC gets active in Sri Lankan schools

The school Cooperative program has been directed to empower the school children to undertake the future development initiatives in a strategic innovative plans and promotional sustainable improvements in Sri Lanka. This event took place in the presence of Rishad Bathiudeen (Minister of Industry and commerce, Resettlement of IDPs, and Cooperative Development, according to NEDAC.

Others present on the occasion included Mr.K.D.N.R Ashoka Secretary of Industry and commerce, Resettlement of IDPs, and Cooperative Development. Mr S L Naseer, Addl. Secretary Ministry of Industry and commerce and Registrar and commissioner of Cooperative societies and M.S.M Riyas Chairman of Youth Empowerment Society Ltd Vice Chairman Of NEDAC.

The Youth Empowerment program related to social mobilization and micro entrepreneurship through Microfinance program was undertaken by the Cooperative Youth Empowerment Society LTD in 24th February 2019 at Kandy District were attended-over 800 participant in a very effective and sustainable way.

The equipment were allocated to the selected needy participants as sewing machines, grinding machines, sealers, generators, paint compressor, Ovens, welding cutting machines, overlock machines and stand fans etc., the conference was presided by Mr S. L Naseer, Addl Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Commerce & Commissioner of Cooperatives & Registrar of Cooperative Societies & Mr Mohamed Riyas, Chairman of Cooperative Empowerment Society LTD, Vice Chairman, NEDAC
