Co-op Bank scam: Raman’s resignation demanded

The opposition Congress says Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh ought to be given the sack as he is involved in the Rs. 54. 38 crore cooperative bank scam affecting over twenty seven thousand depositors. The party claims a narco test be done on the main accused Umesh Sinha as the scam has laid the chief minister and his three ministers open to the accusation , reports PTI.

The party has also called for an SIT probe monitored by the Supreme Court to lay bare all the facts of the scam.

The Congress is particularly sore about the fact that while framing charges against the accused, neither the chief minister nor his ministerial colleagues nor the BJP secretary have been made accused.

A source close to the ruling party is quoted as saying the Congress being on a resignation demanding spree could barely be taken seriously.
