Co-op Bank: Minister criticism lands him in trouble

Karnataka’s Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhuswamy’s criticism (leaked through an audio tape) of the working of co-op department, co-op bank and cooperative minister has landed him in trouble with several ministers of the state demanding his resignation.

Though the CM Basavaraj Bommai claims that it is not serious and that he will find a way out, Cooperatives Minister ST Somashekar says Madhuswamy should first stop thinking that he is a super intelligent fellow.

In the leaked audio tape Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhuswamy is heard saying when a complaint against the working of a co-op bank vis a vis farmer is brought before him “I know these issues. I’ve brought this to the notice of Somashekhar. He is not taking action. What to do?”, he laments.

Media report, however, fails to report the name of the co-op bank in the conversation.
